Stoeger engineers conceived the original STR-9 Combat X pistol as the ideal platform to provide civilians with a full-size, military-grade 9mm handgun.
Mission accomplished, says Stoeger, which has taken the STR-9 Combat X to the next level with the all-new STR-9 Combat SX.
The STR-9 Combat SX is a true fighting pistol featuring a practical, straight grip design with expansive stipling and an aggressive backstrap for optimal weapon control and retention. A recessed thumb shelf and serrated memory pads assist in repeatable hand positioning to boost accuracy potential and to promote muscle memory.
The theme of practical funtion extends to the slide, with its deeper serrations for quick, positive manipulation, and to the ambidextrous slide release levers, which are welcome assets for weak-hand operation. A beveled mag well promotes fast reloading, and the gun comes with three magazines — one 17-round mag with a flush base plate and two extended 20-round mags.
Additional features include an accessory rail mount to accommodate a tactical light or laser, suppressor-height front and rear fiber optic sights with rear sight adjustability, and an optic cut with two mounting plates for direct mounting of a red dot. Regarding the raised sights, Stoeger includes these because the barrel comes threaded for use with a suppressor or aftermarket muzzle device.
The final distinction of the STR-9 Combat SX is its unique color within the Combat pistol line. This model comes with Smoked Bronze Cerakote on the slide and frame — a perfect primary hue for the black barrel, trigger, and operational control accents.
MSRP for the all-new STR-9 Combat SX is $699.
