The Second Amendment Foundation’s Investigative Journalism Project broke four national stories last month and we’re pretty proud of that.
- On July 1 we revealed that UPS was cancelling gun dealers’ accounts and destroying packages in transit. The story prompted two follow-up stories. On July 5 we named the five anti-gun Senators who were behind UPS’ decision. On July 9, we published UPS’ new rules for shipping gun parts.
- On July 12 we chronicled the arrest of a young Florida man, who was targeted by the FBI and ATF for a short-barreled rifle. His plight showcased the absurdity of the NFA.
- On July 18 we revealed that ATF agents were conducting surprise firearm inspections of people’s homes without search warrants. The story prompted a pro-gun Congressman to ask ATF for an explanation.
- On July 21 we were the first to reveal that LAPD had stopped enforcing California’s ban on standard-capacity magazines.
Each of these stories focused the public’s attention where it belongs – on those who would infringe upon our Second Amendment rights. We held anti-gun officials accountable and forced them to answer for their misdeeds. This is exactly why the SAF-IJP was created.
This type of pro-gun journalism is not easy nor is it cheap. Unlike the opposition, we do not accept funding from the government, Hollywood celebrities or anti-gun billionaires.

As always, thanks for your time,
