New Tenzing Upland Bird Vest
The all-new Tenzing TZ BV15 Upland Bird Vest is the next evolution in Tenzing performance for the upland hunter. It takes all the features upland hunters want in a vest and combines them with the functionality of a pack to provide the ultimate bird-hunting accessory. Like all Tenzing packs, the TZ BV15 is a dream to wear, courtesy of its thick, air-cooled back pad and fully adjustable padded shoulder and waist belt straps. Two sizes are offered to ensure a proper fit on almost any hunter.
The shell of the new TZ BV15 is constructed out of ultra strong 100% cotton Ripstop fabric, which is extremely durable and will not pick up any burrs – an improvement over the TZ BV13. Shoulder straps, waist belt and other high stress areas are reinforced with Dyneema, a fiber with a tensile strength stronger than steel, but light enough to float on water. The vest is finished in an attractive olive green color, with the added security of a hunter orange pullover for safety while afield. The mesh game pocket of the TZ BV15 has also been improved, offering larger side openings for easier access and a new coating on the mesh material to make it more durable, stain resistant and burr free.
In addition to the game pocket, the Tenzing TZ BV15 provides upland game hunters with approximately 2000 cubic inches of storage for gloves, radios, collar accessories, choke tubes, ammunition and more inside a total of 13 pockets and compartments. Shells remain at-the-ready, individually cradled in 14 shot shell loops. The TZ BV15 retails for around $199.99, a few dollars more for the XX large model. Federal Premium adds HST 380 Auto
In 2013, Federal Premium® made law enforcement’s top duty round available to the public, creating the ultimate Personal Defense® load: HST®. This year, the product line is even stronger thanks to a new load in 380 Auto, which is an excellent option for concealed carry pistols. Shipments of this new ammunition are currently being delivered. HST ammunition provides consistent expansion, optimum penetration and terminal performance that raise the bar for micro-size handguns. Its specially designed 99-grain hollow point won’t plug, and the jacket and core hold together to provide almost 100% weight retention.
The construction ensures micro-size handguns deliver the power needed for personal defense situations. The result is full-size terminal performance from a compact platform. Factory performance tests were based on bullet and crush cavity diameters versus competition; tested with a micro handgun in 380 Auto with a 2.75-inch barrel fired into 10 percent ballistics gelatin at 10 feet. P380HST1S has an MSRP of $25.95.
New UNIMAG multi-caliber AR magazine
Ross Zheng Engineering enters the firearms industry with their first product —the UNIMAG multi-caliber magazine. RZE—aware of a rapidly evolving AR-15 marketplace where modularity is the standard and quick-change barrels bring affordable multi-caliber options to shooters, promises to set a new standard with the UNIMAG. The UNIMAG provides function to existing AR-15 platforms, as well as encouraging the development and expansion of new AR-15 multi-caliber designs.
The UNIMAG has been proven reliable for several types of ammunition with a varying capacity depending on caliber. For example, loaded with the 223 / 556 / 300 BLK (based on 223 case), the capacity would be 30 rounds; with 5.45×39, it would be 29, with the 6.8 SPC, 26 rounds, with 7.62×39, 25 rounds, with 6.5 Grendel, 24 rounds, and with the 458 SOCOM, 12 rounds. New levels of reliability and versatility are achieved by the patented design of a controlled-tilt follower, which maintains stability and greatly reduces jamming.
This feature works together with the self-adjusting magazine shell to regulate the fit of various cartridge diameters—which brings a value-packed product into the hands of AR-15 enthusiasts. RZE expects to partner with gun manufacturers looking for new ways to improve safety, performance and reliability in their rifle product lines. The UNIMAG is expected to ship this fall, but pre-orders are being accepted at rosszhengengineering.com.
