Ruger introduces Wrangler® .22 LR SA revolver
Sturm, Ruger has introduced the Wrangler™, a new single-action revolver chambered in .22 LR. Built on the legacy of the popular Ruger® Single-Six®, the new Wrangler continues Ruger’s rich history of producing quality, rugged, reliable single-action revolvers. The attractive price, combined with the affordability of rimfire ammunition, make this revolver ideal for learning to shoot, introducing friends or family to the sport, or just experiencing the fun of single-action shooting. With the introduction of the Single-Six in 1953, Bill Ruger pioneered the use of modern investment casting in firearms manufacturing to usher in a new level of affordability in single-action revolvers. Through the use of modern CNC-machining methods, lean manufacturing techniques and a new aluminum alloy cylinder frame, the Wrangler continues this tradition and sets a new bar for affordability while maintaining the rugged reliability that is the hallmark of Ruger firearms. Initially offered in three attractive Cerakote® models—black, silver and bronze—the new Wrangler is a feature-packed revolver and an exceptional value. The standard checkered black grip panels can be swapped for Single-Six panels, allowing for a variety of customized options. The Wrangler will fit in Single-Six holsters that accommodate 4-5/8” barrels. MSRP $249.
Henry launches first Side Gate Lever Action
Henry Repeating Arms unveiled the latest addition to its lineup of American made firearms at the recent NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Indianapolis. The introduction of the Henry Side Gate Lever Action rifle marks the very first time the company has offered a lever action rifle with a loading gate. The rifle can also be loaded through a removable magazine tube, making it a unique proposition in lever action offerings. The side loading gate below the ejection port allows the user to fully load the rifle’s 5-round magazine or keep it topped off without removing the magazine tube. The new Henry Side Gate is offered in calibers .30-30, .38-55 and .35 Rem. The receiver of the rifle utilizes Henry’s signature hardened brass, which has the same tensile and yield strength as steel, and comes drilled and tapped to accept a scope base. The American walnut stock is laser engraved with deep checkering and scrollwork, with the forearm inset with the “HENRY” name. The round 20-inch blued steel barrel uses rifling with varying twist rates depending on the caliber and features a fully adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight and an ivory bead front sight. A patented in-hammer sliding transfer bar safety guarantees the rifle will not fire unless the hammer is cocked and the trigger is pulled. MSRP is $1,045.
Glock Introduces the Modular Optic Ready G45
Glock has introduced the newest addition to the 9X19 pistol family, the G45 Modular Optic System (MOS). Making its debut at the 2019 NRA Annual Meetings, the G45 MOS features the Crossover design which combines the compact-size slide with the full-size frame. The G45 MOS comes with custom mounting plates to accommodate the most popular reflex optical sights. Reflex optics (MOS) allow you to look through the reticle and focus on the target and alignment of the dot. With improved accuracy, quicker target acquisition and versatility, MOS pistols are popular in competitive shooting and are becoming increasingly popular for home defense and target shooting. The G45 MOS incorporates the 5th Generation elements such as the ambidextrous slide-stop lever, the Modular Backstrap System, and the match-grade, Glock Marksman Barrel (GMB) for increased accuracy. Both the slide and barrel feature the nDLC finish, the removal of the half-moon cut seen on previous Gen5 models, and the addition of front serrations on the slide.
