Colonial Williamsburg fans, 18th century history and arms buffs and metal heads alike can tune into the series premiere of “Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour,” on Sunday, July 24 at 10 p.m. eastern on the History channel. The series follows rock legend and “history nerd” Ozzy Osbourne and his son Jack as they visit the world’s most unique historical attractions, including the Revolutionary City—Williamsburg. In this photo, music legend Ozzy Osbourne, left, and son Jack pose with replicas of the 18th century muskets in common use during the American Revolution.
Show production passed through Virginia’s Historic Triangle in March, when the pair visited Colonial Williamsburg’s new educational Musket Range, Historic Trades shops—including the gun making shop—and other historic area attractions.
“We’re thrilled to have Ozzy and Jack experience the fun and engagement of Colonial Williamsburg, and to share it with their legions of fans on History,” said Colonial Williamsburg President and CEO Mitchell B. Reiss. “The series captures their shared passion for history, and we’re confident it will inspire new audiences with the compelling, entertaining stories we tell here every day.”
The series’ first and second trailer videos tease the “Prince of Darkness” and his son boarding a humble camper to bond over visits to varied sites including England’s Stonehenge, the Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota’s Black Hills and Philadelphia’s Eastern State Penitentiary.
