As Joe Biden reportedly is considering “executive orders” on gun control, two prominent gun rights organizations have announced they are “mobilizing to fight back” by energizing grassroots activists with a pair of hard-hitting television messages on more than 20 networks next week.
The Second Amendment Foundation and its sister organization, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms are “amping up” their respective national TV campaigns. Each group has been airing separate 60-second messages but this is the first time both groups will be running their messages simultaneously.
The decision is in reaction to administration and Capitol Hill pronouncements on gun control in the wake of mass shooting incidents in Georgia and Colorado.
“Between the two organizations, their messages will be aired a record 87 times next week,” said SAF founder Alan Gottlieb, who serves as the group’s executive vice president, and also chairs the CCRKBA. “The nation has witnessed two awful incidents over the past ten days, and now the nation’s law-abiding gun owners are being threatened with new restrictions by Biden and his anti-gun Democrat allies in Congress for crimes they didn’t commit.”
He noted that both accused suspects had passed background checks, “which proves gun control is not the answer.”
The 60-second messages will appear on Fox News, One America News Network, Dish TV, Inspiration Channel, Fox Business, CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, The Weather Channel, Headline News, Bloomberg, BBC America, Destination America, Investigation Discovery, American Heroes Channel, SYFY, TLC, TruTV, DirecTV, Sportsman Channel and the Outdoor Channel.
“Both suspects are facing multiple murder charges,” Gottlieb said in a prepared statement, “and they will be held responsible for those crimes if they are convicted.”
However, he said, American gun owners have been listening to anti-gun rhetoric from the White House and Congress, and they’re not taking the blame.
“American gun owners are tired of being penalized for things they didn’t do,” Gottlieb said, “and our TV campaigns are mobilizing them to fight back. We are not going to stand by while Biden and his gun-grabbing cronies dismantle the Second Amendment. They’re pushing and we’re pushing back.”
He estimated the combined campaigns will reach between 17 million and 20 million American viewers, some more than once, over the next week.

The New York Post is reporting that Biden is “considering possible executive orders on gun control,” according to White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki.
“We are considering a range of levers, including working through legislation, including executive action,” Psaki told reporters.
According to Fox News, Psaki did not go into specifics.
“We are considering a range of levers, including working through legislation, including executive action,” Psaki reportedly said. “That has been under discussion and will continue to be under discussion.”
Any gun control measures pushed now are certain to meet resistance, and if laws are actually passed, the possibility of litigation is virtually guaranteed. SAF has rolled up a track record of legal actions, for example, and according to an article in USA Today, last year the organization “joined 21 civil suits in several states.” The organization’s legal actions are typically on the federal level challenging state gun control laws.
