Fox News is reporting that the National Rifle Association’s Political Victory Fund enjoyed a busy August with more than $1.7 million in donations coming through the door.
The news agency said this is nearly $240,000 more than its best month in 2016, when the presidency was up for grabs between Donald Trump and Hillary Rodham Clinton. That year, August contributions totaled $1.4 million.
It’s best month until August was March 2016 when NRA ‘s PAC pulled in “just under $1.5 million,” Fox reported.
“The NRA is grateful to our members and gun owners for a record-breaking August,” NRA spokeswoman Amy Hunter told Fox News. “Americans step up when their rights are in danger, and they’re stepping up now because they know the stakes of this election couldn’t be higher.”
