Former Nevada Assemblyman Steven Brooks, who became the first Silver State legislator to ever be expelled from the Nevada Legislator in March 2013, has been put on probation for a felony firearms-related charge, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.
It was the second probation term handed down against Brooks since the first of the year. He had earlier drawn probation in a case involving domestic battery, the newspaper reported.
Brooks is the Democrat who infamously threatened to kill a fellow lawmaker more than two years ago. He was arrested in January 2013, according to KSNV News, in North Las Vegas. At the time, he had a .357 Magnum revolver in his state-issued vehicle. At the time, he also reportedly admitted to being addicted to marijuana.
