As the 2017 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show wrapped up its four-day run, cheers broke out as Donald Trump became the 45th president of the United States, promising that “from this day forward…America first.”
Trump, the pro-Second Amendment Republican businessman, stunned the political world in November, beating seasoned politician Hillary Rodham Clinton in an election upset that surprised the press, pundits and political leaders around the globe.
In his inauguration speech, broadcast live in the SHOT Show Press Room, Trump promised that “we are looking only to the future.” He said this will remembered as the year that the citizens too back control.
“I will never, ever let you down,” Trump said to a cheering crowd.
He promised to go after terrorists, rebuild infrastructure, and put people back to work.
“The time for talk is over,” he said. “Now is the time for action.”
“Together, we will make America great again,” he concluded.
