Benelli has introduced the 828U Limited Edition over-and-under shotgun, offering what the company called “an exquisite blend of contemporary styling and innovative technology.”
Benelli fundamentally redefined the possibilities of the O/U shotgun category when the company presented the all-new 828U to the upland and sporting clays set in 2015. While largely hewing to the classical O/U profile, the 828U delivered several innovations in keeping with Benelli’s reputation for durability, reliable performance, and forward-thinking technology throughout its shotgun lines, the company said.
At a glance, the 828U Limited Edition is an eye-catcher featuring a nickel-plated steel frame and elegant game scene engravings along the sides, top, and bottom of the receiver, and a satin-finished AA-grade walnut stock.
Both accenting style and providing rugged field performance for the 828U Limited Edition is the BE.S.T. (Benelli Surface Treatment) gloss barrel finish. Utilizing a proprietary coating that calls on nanotechnology and diamond-like carbon particles to provide an armor-tough coating to steel, the BE.S.T. finish is so dependable that Benelli includes a 25-year guarantee against rust and corrosion on all BE.S.T. coated parts.
A limited-edition model in the truest sense, Benelli will produce only 200 units of the 828U Limited Edition in 12-gauge with a 28-inch barrel.
As with the mainline 828U, the 828U Limited-Edition includes all the performance features that have made this double-barrel a standout in the field, including impulse-activated ejectors, a top lever striker reset, and the Benelli Progressive Comfort System recoil mitigation in the stock. Beyond these innovative features, the 828U also sports a a removable trigger group for easy cleaning, adjustable drop and cast for a custom fit, and Benelli’s patented steel locking system that prevents shotshell pressure transfer to the receiver and hinge pins.
