The annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show will have its traditional four-day run in Las Vegas Jan. 22-25, during which lots of new guns and gear will be on display for tens of thousands of retailers, buyers, distributors and industry insiders who will jam the Sands Convention Center.
There are several new entries that have already been announced, and will be making their official industry debut later this month.
The SHOT Show is not open to the public. It is an industry trade show with literally “miles of aisles” that are loaded with everything from firearms to boots and clothing.
But the big attraction will be guns, and there are plenty of new ones.
For example, Sig Sauer has released the enhanced MPX Pistol Caliber Carbine, which has been upgraded and redesigned. It features a Timney single-stage trigger, free-floating slim line M-LOK handguard around a 16-inch threaded barrel, and a telescoping 5-position stock so it can be tailored to fit any shooter.
Controls on this model are ambidextrous, and it has a black hard-coat anodized aluminum frame, with a rail on top that makes it optics ready. It has a 30-round magazine capacity.
This carbine is chambered for the 9mm.
Browning will enter its seventh year of introducing a limited edition Citori High Grade Side Plate Four Gauge Combo shotgun with extensively engraved sideplates, and barrel sets in 12, 20, 28 and .410 bore in 30- and 32-inch lengths. They have Grade VI/VI walnut stocks and forearms with a gloss oil finish, and come with a John M. Browning signature leather fitted case.
Also in the Citori line is the Model 725 Feather Superlight with a lightweight alloy receiver.
Joining them is a BT-99 Trap Max High Grade shotgun and a Citori 725 Trap Max High Grade O/U.
In the rifle department, Browning expands the X-Bolt family with the Max Long Range Hunter in about nine different calibers. It has a composite Max stock with black and gray textured finish and stainless fluted heavy sporter barrel.
Browning’s new X-Bolt Tungsten has a Generation 2 carbon fiber stock with palm swell and a Cerakote Tungsten finish on the stainless steel barrel and receiver.
There’s also a new BAR MK3 DBM wood semi-auto with a matte blue finish and 18-inch fluted barrel. It’s got an alloy receiver and Picatinny rails, plus a Grade II Turkish walnut stock.
The Buck Mark Target Fluted gray laminate .22 LR model is a semi auto with an 18 /38-inch barrel, Picatinny rails and 10-round detachable magazine.
In the handgun arena, Browning offers a new Buck Mark Medallion Rosewood model with a 5.5 inch barrel and rosewood colored grips.
New from Winchester for 2019 is the new XPR Hunter Strata model bolt action rifle with an advanced polymer stock in Truetimber Strata camo. Available in most standard calibers, this rifle has the M.O.A. trigger system and the barrel, bolt and receiver have a Perma-Cote finish.
Winchester’s new XPR Hunter Highlander features a Kryptek Highlander camo finish on the polymer stock and Perma-Cote finish on the barrel, bolt and receiver.
For lever action fans, the Model 1886 Short Rifle will now be chambered in .45-90 WCF. It’s got a 24-inch barrel and satin finish on the walnut stock.

And there’s also the SXP Youth Field model with a 12-inch length f pull and satin finished stock and forearm, Invector Plus choke tubes and hard chrome plated chamber.
The folks at Auto-Ordnance have announced the “Airborne” M1 Carbine model, and it will definitely live up to the heritage established 75 years ago with WWII paratroopers. This version from the Kahr Firearms Group features laser engraving that includes the American flag and the image of St. Michael. On the opposite side, the engravings feature a paratrooper, parachutes and C-47 transport aircraft.
This carbine model wears a handsome high quality walnut stock with folding butt, and all metal parts are Parkerized.
Chambered for the .30 Carbine round, this commemorative has an 18-inch barrel with blade front sight and flip-style rear, wood handguard and 15-round magazine.

Featuring a stainless steel slide and frame with a Picatinny bottom rail, the 429 DE Mark XIX pistol has a 6-inch stainless barrel with integral muzzle brake. It ships with a .50 AE seven-round magazine.
The barrels are compatible with any MK19 USA or Israel Desert Eagle pistol with a wide rail on top. It uses a 50AE magazine and bolt. A variety of barrels are available.
Just before the holidays, Springfield Armory announced a 10mm version of its RO Elite series semi-auto pistol, built on the Model 1911 platform with a forged slide and frame.
With dovetailed sights front and rear, this stainless steel pistol has a 5-inch match grade barrel and is finished in Black-T, a corrosion-resistant and self-lubricating treatment that protects from the elements and creates a smooth function. It has an 18.5-pound recoil spring, ambidextrous thumb safety, G-10 grip panels and an integral rail at the front end of the frame for accessory lights or lasers.
The beavertail grip safety has a memory bump, and the checkered mainspring housing is flat. The ejection port is lowered and flared.
Another new pistol that was announced late last year is Remington’s RM380 Executive, a pocket-size semi-auto chambered for the .380 ACP.
With an OAL of 5.25 inches and two-tone finish, the RM380 has a double-action-only trigger, 410 stainless steel barrel, snag-free fixed sights, 7075 aluminum frame and ambidextrous low profile magazine release. This pistol has a slide stop that locks open on the last shot. The magazine floorplate extends to allow a finger rest, and the extractor is external.
Rock River Arms recently unveiled two new pistols in the LAR-15 line, both chambered for the 5.56mm NATO round. The company says both models “were developed to provide enhanced stability and improved overall performance of the AR pistol platform.”
Joining the lineup are the new A4 pistols, both fitted with the SBX-K pistol stabilizing brace, which is a shorter version of the SBX brace. The barrel is surrounded by a Cloak MLOK handguard and the flattop upper receiver has a forward assist, dust cover, brass deflector and M4 feed ramp. The anodized lower receiver is made from 7075 T6 aluminum.
DoubleStar uses a standard trigger group, fits the carbine with an ACE SOCOM buttstock and ERGO ambi-Sure Grip. The carbine comes with a 30-round magazine.
Another DoubleStar entry is the ARP7, a semi-auto pistol chambered in 5.56mm NATO, 9mm or .300 Blackout. It has a Strongarm pistol brace and Big Timber Brake, plus a Cloak MLOK handguard that accommodates accessories.
