What’s New—Politics: Presidential Race: NRA-ILA Executive Director writes guest editorial in the Daily Caller regarding Kamala Harris’ “gun policy”; listing of endorsements in U.S. House races; Texas State Fair: Judge denies Attorney General Paxton’s request for injunction; Wyoming: no info on the Judiciary meeting last weekend; Marquette Poll.
A solid majority, 64%, favors Bruen’s affirmation of the right to possess a firearm outside the home, while 36% oppose the decision. These views have not changed much since the September 2023 polls.
Presidential race
Randy Kozuch, Executive Director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA), has written a guest editorial, The Truth About Kamala Harris’s Gun Policy, for the Daily Caller and the NRA-ILA website. The NRS-ILA editorial is entitled Kamala for Gun Confiscation: In Her Own Words.

Texas State Fair
On September 19, 2024, a Texas state district judge denied Attorney General Ken Paxton’s request for an injunction to block the firearms ban at the Texas State Fair that begins September 27. Paxton’s office has filed a notice of accelerated appeal with the Texas 15th Court of Appeals.

Wyoming: The Joint Judiciary Committee held meetings on Sept. 19-20. The agenda included an item titled Firearms. As of the close of the meetings, no documents were available under the firearms agenda.
