Maine: Under the guise of trying to prevent homicidal attacks, persons who desire to remove the Second Amendment from American culture are forgetting that both the First Amendment and political discourse are intertwined. The Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) sent a letter to Gov. Janet Mills and Secretary of State Shenna Bellows. According to Brandon Combs’ letter, Gov. Mills, who just recently signed three anti-Second Amendment bills as well as vetoing an “assault weapons” ban, had forwarded an FPC tweet to the Maine State Police as threatening. The letter from FPC reminded the Governor that such postings on X (formerly known as Twitter) Are protected speech.
Pennsylvania: ABC News, after the assassination attempt of former President Trump, picked up on a Democrat state representative, Ben Sanchez, who was trying to promote the idea that his “assault weapons” ban bill could have stopped the attempt. The article then lauds former Governor Thomas Wolfe for signing gun control bills during his administration.
