One of the strongest voices in the gun prohibition movement has just declared Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris to be “the strongest gun safety ticket in history,” according to a report at Fox News.
BULLETIN: Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed following a long battle with cancer.
Both Democrats are perennial anti-gunners, and they have published a gun control scheme that includes banning so-called “assault weapons” and full-capacity magazines, requiring “smart gun” technology for future gun sales, registration, and one-gun-a-month restrictions.
Brady United is touting the Biden-Harris team while the National Rifle Association has branded the pair as the “most anti-gun presidential ticket in history.” NRA used similar rhetoric to describe the Barack Obama-Joe Biden ticket 12 years ago.
Biden has bragged that he twice defeated the NRA, and Peter Ambler, executive director of Giffords, a gun prohibition lobbying group started by former Congresswoman Gabrielle “Gabby” Giffords, told Fox, “Not only has (Biden) come up against the NRA twice and won, which was sort of the primary selling point for his candidacy in the primary and one of the reasons he is the nominee today. He’s somebody who’s sort of shaped his public service in response to tragedy. He has been there in a very personal level for so many victims and survivors of gun violence.”
Fox quoted NRA spokesperson Lars Dalseide, who warned that Biden “has promised to confiscate guns, destroy the American firearms industry, ban the manufacture and sale of popular semi-automatic firearms as well as standard capacity magazines, mandate that the only guns sold in America will be smart guns, and ban private firearm transfers.”
