The 2020 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show has seen thousands of new products introduced and among them are new ammunition offerings that will have a wide appeal.
Browning has announced two new loads for the .350 Legend, a straight-walled cartridge good for mid-sized game, and especially hogs in the Southwest.
This year, Browning has introduced a 124-grain FMJ load with a reported muzzle velocity of 2,500 fps from a 20-inch barrel.
The other is a 155-grain rapid expansion load featuring a proprietary Matrix Tip bullet that combines copper and polymer.
Another pair of .350 Legend loads comes from Winchester in two ammunition categories, Super Suppressed and Power Max Bonded.
The Super Suppressed load features a 255-grain bullet that launches at subsonic velocity for maximum noise reduction from a suppressor.
The Power Max Bonded offering, according to Winchester, uses a proprietary bonding process to fuse the lead bullet core to the copper jacket for weight retention and penetration. The bullet weighs 160 grains.
Hornady is out of the gate with Handgun Hunter ammunition, featuring the MonoFlex bullet, which is made with a tough copper alloy for weight retention.
New loads include a .357 Magnum with a 130-grain bullet, a .40 S&W with a 135-grain pill and a 10mm Auto with the same bullet. Also in the lineup is a 200-grain bullet in a .44 Magnum cartridge, a .454 Casull load with the same pill, and likewise the same bullet is loaded in a .460 S&W Magnum round. Hornady also offers a 115-grain load for the 9mm.
In the Subsonic Ammunition arena, Hornady offers three rifle loads and a trio of pistol rounds. There’s a .30-30 Winchester round with a 175-grain bullet, a .450 Bushmaster with a 395-grain bullet and a .45-80 Govt. round for the 1895 Marlin that has a 410-grain bullet, all Sub-X projectiles with Flex Tips. Then comes a 9mm round with a 147-grain XTP, a .40 S&W pushing a 180-grain XTP and a .45 ACP round with a 230-grain XTP bullet.
