SIG SAUER, Inc. has just introduced the CROSS Rifle, the first SIG-built precision bolt-action hunting rifle designed by SIG SAUER engineers, completely manufactured and machined at the SIG SAUER facilities in New Hampshire.
Chambered in either 6.5 Creedmoor or .308 Winchester, the new rifle will be available soon in the new .277 Fury, according to Sig Sauer.
It’s a lightweight precision rifle with a push button, foldable SIG precision stock, a one-piece aluminum receiver, and AI magazines for creating the most accurate precision hunting platform. The 6.5 Creedmore has an OAL of 35.5 inches with an 18-inch barrel with a 1:8-inch rifling twist. The .308 Winchester version is 36.5 inches overall with a 16-inch barrel featuring a 1:10-inch twist. When the .277 Fury model becomes available, the rifling twist will reportedly be 1:8.5 inches.
Both rifles have stainless steel barrels with a free float M-LOK handguard, two-stage match-grade trigger, ambidextrous safety, three-lug bolt design. The precision stock on either model is spring-loaded for one handed operation and can be fully adjusted in the field for length of pull and comb height with no tools.
Sig Sauer’s new model has a full-length replaceable Picatinny rail that allows for direct optics mounts, 20 MOA, and O MOA.
